Food & Drink

My favourite cafes around Lewisham & Greenwich

1.
The Broadway Cafe & Pizzeria
I’ve recently discovered this lovely family-run café near Deptford Bridge, and it’s quickly become a favourite. They make the best tiramisu I’ve had in London, their pizzas are excellent with plenty of variety, and the staff are always so friendly. Cozy atmosphere, great food — what more could you wish for?
2.
Sylva
Another recent discovery of mine on the corner of Folkestone Park in Deptford. Such a lovely casual spot for breakfast and lunch — I can’t wait for warmer days to sit outside and enjoy the view over the park.
3.
Sienna
It’s a real gem by Thames river, with nice views of Canary Wharf. Great selection of sandwiches and pastries. It was nice and quiet during a week day. Lovely staff too.
4.
The Greenwich Nest
It’s a relatively new addition to Greenwich hospitality scene directly at the opposite of Waitrose Greenwich. I like the vibe of this well designed cafe which has plenty of breakfast and lunch options in their menu. It’s also baby friendly, which is a bonus for us :)
5.
Cafe W (Waterstones Cafe)
I just love hanging around the books and spend time in this cafe with my baby girl. It’s the atmosphere for me.
6.
The River Gardens Cafe
It’s another lovely riverside cafe. It’s considerably larger than Sienna and has an extensive food menu. Their pancakes were great. Again great for families!
7.
The Waiting Room Coffee Bar
A vegan cafe filled with losts of interesting local art in Deptford High Street. As a former vegetarian, I was so happy to discover this place. Their chick’n burgers are must-try.
8.
The Coffee Studio
This one is a great option for working/studying. It’s chill and relaxed. Plenty of seating, too.
9.
Peyton and Byrne
Although it can be quite crowded at certain times, especially on weekends, it’s a nice option to have a cup of tea and cake in Greenwich town center.
